Hey everyone! First, I want to please, please, pretty please ask everyone to let me know in one form or another what they think about the voting incentives. Do you want them back or do you think they're a bribe you don't need? Now, though! 2nd Shift has gotten a bit of notice, here and there, and I thought I'd share some of the comments I've seen about it. "The strip looks reasonably good so far--
not stellar, but out of such acorns do mighty oaks yada yada. Liked the
last one the best." - T. Campbell (one of my webcomic heroes!. The page he refers to as liking the best is Mmmm... toast, page 37) "There's a lot to like and little to complaint about here. This comic
has tight scripting, especially for a large cast, a broad emotional
range, drama, suspense and frustration - all centering around a
franchise photocopying shop. The characters are often unexpected,
either more normal than they look or more freakish than they act. The
dialogue is thankfully free of cliches. The art is more comicky than
cartoony and is pretty consistent; the unexpected uses of color become
a distinctive touch that is very appealing, from orange shirts to
purple doors. The pacing is comparable to that done by a seasoned
amateur playwright. I feel good about suggesting you give it a look.
You know in just a few pages whether you're hooked, and it only gets
better." - Bengo (who writes the Floating Lightbulb blog as well as Li'l Nyet, the Red Menace). "Undoubtably I totally agree with you Bengo, the thing that I like is
that its a free-flowing comic, the introduction of characters into the
strip leaves you guessing and using your imagination." - Frumph (the force behind frumph.net and one half of the Two Guys Talking Webcomic podcast). "Not a big fan of 2nd Shift currently, but I think there are some good
ideas there that could develop into something I'd really enjoy." - Amanda (Thank you for being honest, Amanda. I appreciate it and I'm glad you see the potential here). "2nd Shift is going to be the greatest webcomic on the net. I can just
feel it! I really like the plot and charaters- so believalbe. It's
funny and drawn well." - Anonymous person who nominated me for a WCRCA. Thanks to all my regular readers who support 2nd Shift not with words but actions (reading is an action after all) and to those who have taken the time to write about 2nd Shift elsewhere.
